FAQs About MACS

Hopefully we'll cover everything here!
  • What is the cost to join?
Being part of the MACs is free; but everyone playing competitive matches must register on Foireann.ie . All players must do this so they are covered for insurance purposes for both matches and trainings. The cost for this is $164 AUD (€99).
  • Where’s training?
Training is on at the pitches at: Booralee Park, Bay St, Botany NSW 2019
  • When does the season start & finish?
Currently the 2024 season is starting in February with championship finals expected mid July
  • Where can I sign up?
Head over to our memberships page for sign up details. On the Trainings page you'll find the contact details of our player reps who you can message if you want to ask anything specific.
  • What age groups do you have?
Anyone over 16 can join up but there are no underage teams as of yet!
  • What level teams are there?
We have everything from absolute beginners up to the highest levels in the ladies and mens teams.
  • Do you play football and hurling?
Yes we do both at the MACs
  • Can foreign people join 😅
    Yes absolutely
  • How much are the social events & what are they?
They range in price, obviously the 12 pubs is free just to pay for your own pints, the yacht socials are around 100 dollars (not bad for a private MACs boat), the olympic sports day (egg & spoon race, wheelbarrow race, putting competition, tug of war and more) are free to join. SO it varies but they don’t break the bank for the craic that’s involved!
  • I’m new to Sydney, any advice?
Yes checkout this post on our blog with useful links for people new to Sydney link accommodation apps, visa tips, where to buy clothes. All that jazz.
  • How to buy tickets for the raffles?
Follow us on our Instagram where we post about any raffles and fundraisers we're running. For the last few years as part of the Mac's 100 Club we gave away 50K worth of prizes. We've also given away holidays to FIJI and cash prizes as part of club fundraisers for the player fund.
  • What types of social events are there?
    Boat parties 🛥, Beach football🏖🏐, Golf tournaments🏌️‍♀️, Girls nights🍸, BBQ's 🍔, Melbourne 7’s trip ✈️, Ski Trip to Thredbo⛷, Xmas in July🎄, 12 Pubs🎅🏻
  • Can the MACS help me settle into life in Australia?
Yes, yes, and yes. Between player reps and committee members they be happy to share a wealth of knowledge and advice on jobs, visas, regional work and getting settled in Sydney, your new home away from home!☘️
  • When are the matches on and how often?
Matches are played every Sunday at Monarch Oval, Ingleburn. Here's the goofle maps link- https://g.co/kgs/PoncH82
